In 2005, HEED was started when two mothers began to provide for 17 desperately needy Children from a remote village in one of the poorest districts in Uganda.
HEED Uganda exists to Help, Equip, Evangelize and Disciple orphaned and vulnerable children to become servant leaders in Uganda. We do not want to foster an atmosphere of dependence upon HEED, but of self-sustaining reliance on God and others within their communities according to God's Biblical template.
HEED Uganda's work is focused on the orphaned and vulnerable children who are primarily from one remote village in Mubende District of Uganda. Uganda is in the bottom 1% of GDP of the word's nations, and this is one of the poorest areas of the country. These children are the poorest of the world's poor.
Children are served through two programs:
The Full Care Sponsorship Program provides for all the basic necessities of life for 21 children in Christian boarding schools. Housing ~ Food ~ Clothing ~ Shoes ~ tuition ~ School uniforms ~ Medical care ~ Dental care ~ School supplies & loads of love and encouragement to reach for their potential
The Village School is helping and equipping children through education and other interventions within their rural community. This project provides: Teacher salaries ~ School Supplies ~ Curriculum ~ Daily Meals ~ anti parasitic treatments & other interventions~ & hope for brighter futures.
